St Paul, MN - Minnesota has become the fifth-largest agricultural exporting state in the nation, and as more local companies look to get in on the action, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is eager to help. The MDA will offer six complimentary lunch meetings at select locations this spring to help Minnesota food and agricultural companies looking to learn more about export opportunities.
MDA has resources and staff experience to help companies take those first steps into exporting. The MDA can also help experienced exporters expand their market reach. Meeting participants will also learn about available federal funding for export market development.
The MDA has worked over the years to develop markets for Minnesota agricultural products in promising regions of the world such as Asia and Latin America. MDA trade experts continually assess prospective international markets and aggressively pursue them for the state's farmers and agribusinesses.
The complimentary lunch meetings are scheduled throughout the state in March and April. To register, call MDA International Resources Manager Shannen Bornsen at 651-201-6658 or send an email to shannen.bornsen@state.mn.us.
